Water Quality.

Water quality is very important for the health of your Koi. Poor water conditions will stress your koi, this can then lead to disease. The most common tests to carry out are for ammonia, PH and nitrates.

Ammonia & Nitrates should ideally be at zero.
PH should ideally be between 7.0 & 7.8.

Acclimatising your fish.

  1. Float your bag on the top of your pond for about 20 minutes so that the water in the bag adjusts to your pond water.

  2. Open your bag and out about 20% pond water into your bag every 15-20 minutes. After 30-40 minutes take your koi out with a net and place it into your pond.

  3. NB. The water in the bag should be poured down a drain, NEVER put water from anywhere else into your pond. (it may contain parasites ).
